Our Work in the World
The Living Wholeness Institute brings its practice leadership into many different forms of work and places in the world. We bring systemic thinking, participatory methodologies, process architecture, emergent design, harvesting and chronicling, artistry and systemic approaches to host and create systemic transformation initiatives. More than anything, however, we bring our whole selves, and an ability to create spaces for new potential to arise, to work with what emerges in order to carve new pathways forward. We are very skilled at "not-knowing", so that together we access our collective intelligence to sense and manifest new possibilities. We then practice our way forward. Our approach helps us to collectively access a larger and deeper field of intelligence and new capacities within and around us. We believe the long-term purpose of systemic transformation is to evolve a new culture - or new cultures - whose values, beliefs, behaviours, assumptions and meaning-making are aligned with all of life.
Societal Innovation and Systemic Transformation
LABS: COLLABORATORS AND CO-CREATORS
Labs are "safe containers" where we can ask audacious questions about the things we care most deeply about, and bring people together to take risks, prototype & experiment our ways into discovering new ways forward. Our collaborations include rethinking the finance and food systems in UK (The Finance Innovation Lab and Tasting the Future) to a collaborative practice of place-making in Israel (Archinool). In Egypt, Israel and Greece we are working with the How of the What - creating a deep practice ground for shifting from social protest to long-term social transformation. We work with young leaders and leadership in Egypt (Art of Hosting Social Transformation) and we are co-founders of the SIZ - Systemic Innovation Zone in Greece. We are collaborating with and bringing a participatory appraoch to Politeia 2.0, a Democracy Lab in Athens aimed to re-invent democracy at a time of collapse and opportunity.
INSTITUTIONS: AS CONSULTANTS & IN PARTNERSHIP
As the complexity in Europe increases, Institutions are needing to respond and initiate in fundamentally new ways - what are the forms, partnerships, practices and mindset that support the movement from crisis to opportunity? How do we work with the collapse and dis-integration whilst also birthing the new forms? We work closely with different directorates in, and institutions of, the European Commission, offering the Art of Participatory Leadership trainings and strategic directions, building internal capacity to collectively lead and learn through a time of great change in Europe. We are tracking the bigger picture of how systemic change happens within / despite / in collaboration within Institutions.
CONFERENCES & EVENTS: CURATORS
The kinds of event and conferences we want to go to are ones that create a strong container for surprise, discovery and a shift in perception. So these are the ones we create. It is a true artform to bring people together at a unique point in time and place. For us, purpose is the leader of any call. So we blend process architecture with participation and arts practice, we combine rigor and celebration to create an alchemical process. Some people call this a Conference, we call it Curation.
LEARNING JOURNEYS: GUIDES AND TRACKERS
Many of us feel deep in our bones, and in our organizations, communities, and society at large that we are in significant shift. Implicit in this is a dis-orientation, and a need to somehow re-pattern and re-position ourselves. What are the capacities and practices that will help us hold our centre whilst in massive movement?
The word "crisis” in Greek actually means decision; this points to an important time of choosing how we want to live and evolve with each other and the earth. Citizens all over the world are creating new forms of governance, business, economy and relationship. It is a time of great potential, one that includes grieving that which is dying while simultaneously opening to new life. We are hand-making our lives, stitching our lineages back together and innovating humanity’s upgrade.
Immersion learning creates a container for our very personal transformation to take place in a collective ecology of daily living and depth-learning. It helps us access a larger and deeper field of intelligence and new capacities within and around us. The Living Wholeness Immersion works with a pattern of navigating between the individual and collective, the visible and invisible, which, because we are traveling together, has the capability to ‘fast-track’ evolution, intentionally.
LIFE: AS FRIENDS AND PARTNERS
Life is predisposed towards the unpredictable, and full of surprises! There is an artform to being with life as it happens. This is the artistic process. Some of our most profound work is curating and hosting life transitions - from people's life work, their identities, communities, organizational forms, countries, governance systems to celebrating and grieving the loss of people we love. By bringing in the principles of participation and working with the mystery of life itself - we create deep and celebratory spaces for passing through these transitions and being transformed by them. Recently, we were privileged to host such a threshold with the extraordinary community of Hazelwood House.
MAPPING: AS ACTION-RESEARCHERS
Each initiative we are part of is a system in itself, but by connecting them, the LWI cultivates a network that can create transformative change across different parts of the world.
