What's up

Hellada (Greece) is at the heart of a global-scale breaking down and breaking open. “Crisis” in Greek means “decision” or to take a stand; this points to an important time of choosing how we want to live and evolve with each other and the earth. Citizens all over the world are creating new forms of governance, business, economy and relationship. It is a time of great potential, one that includes grieving that which is dying while simultaneously opening to new life. We are hand-making our lives, stitching our lineages back together and innovating humanity’s upgrade. What is the artform of transforming our inner and outer worlds so they are aligned with life? How can Greece be a catalyst for newness wherever we are?

Some of our Practice Grounds

Our work is local and translocal ~

Axladitsa-Avatakia is our home "campus" and is based in Greece, while our work spans North America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The Living Wholeness Institute's practice leadership also spans multiple initiatives, each of them holding a transformative vision and practice. We find ourselves working with "Callers", those brave souls who see the potential and ask an audacious question, and then, as we work together, we become "fields".

In Athens, we co-founded the Systemic Innovation Zone (the SIZ) with emergent social innovators and pioneers to learn, connect, prototype and practice the new systems into being. We are now partnering with Politeia 2.0 and bringing our participatory and strategic practices to this Democracy Lab. Much is bubbling up in Greece right now, so stay tuned.

We also are bringing our practice to systemic transformation projects in Israel, Egypt, Greece, to Ireland's pioneering Trailblazery. In the UK, we co-created the practice, process and conceptual framework with the Finance Innovation Lab and Tasting the Future, two open-source and pioneering social innovation labs, in partnership with the World Wildlife Fund and the Institute of Chartered Accountants. We work with Institutions like the European Commission to help transform the inner culture to be able to work with and respond to the massive changes and deep crises in the European Union. We bring Art of Participatory Leadership trainings, and create multi-stakeholder initiatives and events such that bring catalyse the collective intelligence of public servants, citizens and institutions towards new policies and ways of working.

Our deepest practice ground is partnering with life as it shows up and with people, in partnership with their places, as they begin to tap into the big questions that are leading their lives or their communities.

Ongoing Learning Journeys & Initiatives

The Art of Participatory Leadership - Israel took place in September 2014 a post cease-fire moment and explored collaboration in times of conflict, by working with participatory leadership to navigate the chaordic in post-traumatic societies. Asking "How do we create new cultures of conversation in contexts of extremes, difference and divergence?"

From Heart To Peace is our Learning Journey to Bosnia in collaboration with Hazelwood House and the legacy of Gillian Keane, who have worked for 20 years building relationships with and between women in a post-genocide context. Click on Summer 2014 to find out more.

Immersion Learning:

Many of us feel deep in our bones, and in our organizations, communities, and society at large that we are in significant shift. Implicit in this is a dis-orientation, and a need to somehow re-pattern and re-position ourselves. What are the capacities and practices that will help us hold our centre whilst in massive movement?

The word "crisis” in Greek actually means decision; this points to an important time of choosing how we want to live and evolve with each other and the earth. Citizens all over the world are creating new forms of governance, business, economy and relationship. It is a time of great potential, one that includes grieving that which is dying while simultaneously opening to new life. We are hand-making our lives, stitching our lineages back together and innovating humanity’s upgrade.

Immersion learning creates a container for our very personal transformation to take place in a collective ecology of daily living and depth-learning.  It helps us access a larger and deeper field of intelligence and new capacities within and around us. The Living Wholeness Immersion works with a pattern of navigating between the individual and collective, the visible and invisible, which, because we are traveling together, has the capability to ‘fast-track’ evolution, intentionally.
